The 2009 Billie Jean King Cup is the 1st edition of this exhibition tournament. The tournament plans to invite 4 Grand Slam Champions in 2008, Maria Sharapova, Ana Ivanović, Venus Williams and Serena Williams. Bue due to Sharapova's shoulder injury, Jelena Janković replaced her.
